Description
The Apple I was an 8-bit personal computer designed by Steve Wozniak and released by the Apple Computer Company in 1976. Wozniak demonstrated the first prototype in July 1976 at the Homebrew Computer Club in Palo Alto. The machine was sold as an assembled circuit board at a retail price of $666.66, with about 200 units eventually produced. It was one of the first computers to use the MOS Technology 6502 microprocessor and included a BASIC interpreter as an expansion.
