Description

Michael Spindler, known as "The Diesel," served as Apple's CEO from 1993 to 1996. Under his leadership, Apple formed the AIM alliance with IBM and Motorola in 1994 to create the PowerPC platform, and introduced the Power Macintosh line. However, he also oversaw a period of declining market share and financial losses, and briefly allowed third-party manufacturers to produce Macintosh clones. Spindler was replaced by Gil Amelio in early 1996.
