Tim Cook became Apple's CEO on August 24, 2011, succeeding Steve Jobs. Cook had joined Apple in March 1998 as senior vice president for worldwide operations and was widely regarded as the operational mastermind behind Apple's supply chain. Under Cook's leadership, Apple launched the Apple Watch, AirPods, Apple Silicon chips, and Apple Vision Pro, and became the first publicly traded U.S. company valued at over $1 trillion in 2018 — a figure that has since grown to over $3 trillion.
