Description

On January 9, 2007, Steve Jobs unveiled the first iPhone at the Macworld convention in San Francisco, describing it as three devices in one: a revolutionary mobile phone, a widescreen iPod with touch controls, and a breakthrough internet communications device. The iPhone broke with prevailing mobile phone designs by eliminating most physical buttons in favor of a multi-touch display. Released on June 29, 2007, at a starting price of $499, it sold over one million units in its first 74 days and ushered in the smartphone era.
